Pennard house - Charlotte and Ricky - Somerset wedding photography.

Groom holding bride's bouquet

Charlotte and Ricky’s beautifully, fun and romantic adventure at one of Somerset’s finest wedding venues, Pennard House.

Tucked away in the Somerset countryside, set amongst a backdrop of rolling hills is this hidden gem of a wedding venue Pennard House. The family-owned Georgian grade II listed manor house is exactly what you want to showcase your wedding day, and something I as a wedding photographer relishes when seeing it on a fresh new wedding enquiry form.

It was a beautifully sunny day and Charlotte and Ricky were in great spirits, getting ready just a 20-second walk apart. I was floating in between capturing the laughs and moments as they enjoyed the early excitement with their bridesmaids and groomsmen.

As you can see from the photos, these two couldn't be any happier together and I could really feel the connection all day which made the couples portraits of the day so natural. These guys booked a pre-wedding shoot with me which we enjoyed at Hengistbury head. This always makes being in the presence of a camera easier and the report between us stronger.

Anyway, enough waffle. I will try to let the photos do the talking. If like myself you have zero patience, below is the slideshow of how I saw their day.

Lets find out a little more about these guys……

So how did you guys first meet?

We actually met on tinder, very romantic!

How did he pop the question? Anywhere nice?

Ricky proposed in Rome by the Trevi Fountain, after walking around with the ring box down his pants for a good 2 hours as we walked from our hotel to the fountain. When we arrived it was so busy! Ricky didn't realise it was a very famous tourist area.

What made you choose this Venue?

We instantly felt at home at Pennard house, we wanted that homely feel and not just an empty space. Plus all the staff are amazing!

What theme or style was your inspiration for your wedding?

Clean/Classic style

What made you guys choose Perfect Duet (Ed Sheeran & Beyonce) as your first dance song?

The lyrics are very relatable to us as a couple

Any tips for future couples planning their big day?

Make sure you're doing what you both want to do as you will not please everyone! and it’s your day, no one else's.
