Kingston Maurward -Robyn and Nick - Dorset wedding photography.

An 18th-century manor house on the outskirts of Dorchester played host to Robyn and Nick’s elegant and sophisticated wedding day.

As you drive East out of Dorchester you’ll come across the glorious and impeccably maintained Kingston Maurward House and gardens. Dorset has many Manorhouses but not many can compete with Kingston Maurward in terms of size and its beautiful gardens. I mean you could spend hours here exploring. There’s the lake, the Japanese gardens, pools and ponds everywhere, statues, stone buildings. You name it, it’s probably there. There is even a farm with animals to pet, feed etc.

It was the perfect environment for Robyn and Nick to have their portrait shots with me. So many options to capture these two being all awkward and romantic haha. We had a blast and as you can see they absolutely smashed it.

So Robyn and Nick!! What can I say? The nicest couple ever! Certainly up there. They couldn’t do enough for me and they made the day so much easier to document. This really was a true love story. Don’t believe me? Read about the couple below and you’ll know what I mean.

The wedding was like something from a movie, with the ceremony in the picturesque Pengelly room, then a drinks reception over looking the lake in the sun, followed by all the delicious foods inside then some serious shapes were thrown on the dancefloor to cap a seriously good party.

Anyway, enough waffle. I will try to let the photos do the talking. If like myself you have zero patience, below is the slideshow of how I saw their day.

Lets find out a little more about these guys……

So how did you guys first meet?

We grew up next door to each other in Poole, I was 5 and he was 9 years old, best friends straight away!

How did he pop the question? Anywhere nice?

He took me to his parent's house in France for Christmas 2017. Made me put all the presents under the tree the night before (which unknowingly included the ring). Made me get up super early...! The last present he got from under the tree, he threw into my lap, it was a little box. I looked up and he was on one knee!

What made you choose Kingston Maurward?

We used to visit it as children with our parents. Plus it has beautiful gardens and lots of animals!

What theme or style was your inspiration for your wedding?

Lots of foliage, greenery and beautiful flowers, very fresh with lots of natural light. Plan was to bring the outside in.

What made you guys choose “My world” by Deluxe as your first dance song?

It is our favourite band, and it was playing when we got engaged

Any tips for future couples planning their big day?

Always stick to what you guys want, remember it's your day. Book things in advance, as soon as you can to reduce stress nearer the time! Try and have fun planning- you never know what might happen.... a global pandemic for example.

Finally, where's the honeymoon?

Jordan in the middle east!... Sand surfing, desert geo-domes, Petra ancient city, Diving in Aqaba, Floating in the dead sea.
