Sherborne castle wedding followed by The Red Lion at Babcary.

Bright sun, beautiful flowers, lush green gardens, torrential rain! This wedding had it all.

So they choose to get wed at the gorgeous Sherborne castle in my home town followed by an awesome reception and party at The Red Lion in Babcary.

I’ve known Sasha and Joe for years and they truly are amazing people and such a great couple. They booked me ages ago on the fact they really liked my landscape photos haha. Good job I have put in a lot of hard work since then behind the scenes allowing me to document these two lovely people on their special day. I knew 99% of the guests so it was tricky to capture the type of photography I crave but hopefully, they enjoy the story I have created.

It certainly was a super special day.

So if you have read my blogs before you’ll know i do things differently. I could waffle all day about the wedding but the day was only as good as the couple who organised it. So let’s find out more.

So how did you guys first meet??

We met at the Screwfix Call Centre in 2009, I was on Amy’s team at work, so when Joe came over to chat with Amy, we got chatting from there.

How did he pop the question? Anywhere nice?

We were on a 5 day City Break in Sorrento, Italy. We were halfway through our break, we’d gone out to dinner in the cutest restaurant – we sat in the garden that was covered in twinkly fairy lights, lots of candles and beautiful flowers.. when we were on our own, Joe got down on one knee and asked 🙂

What made you choose this/these venue (s)?

As Joe is from Sherborne, we wanted to have something to represent there and it’s so beautiful there, it seemed perfect. We picked the Red Lion for our evening do as we always used to go there for lunch and the sun would ALWAYS shine, even in October. So it seemed like our little good luck, sunshine spot and couldn’t think of a more perfect venue. Plus the food is incredible!

What theme or style was your inspiration for your wedding?

Simple, clean, whites, greys and purple. Lavender and Gypsophila as our main flowers and decorations.

What made you guys choose Stevie Wonder – For Once In My Life as the first dance song?

It was fun and upbeat, and everyone knows the song so good for all our friends and family to join us halfway through.

Any tips for future bride and grooms planning their big day?

Give yourself plenty of time. I also used a website called gettingmarried.com which was really useful for tips, checklists, managing RSVPs and seating plans.

    Finally, where’s the honeymoon?

San Francisco, Las Vegas and LA – it was bloody awesome!
