Sherborne Abbey and a DIY reception at Westhall Farm- Longburton.

Northern people know how to party!

These two are truly fantastic people and their friends and family were just as welcoming. I had such a blast capturing their special day with a grand ceremony at the spectacular Sherborne Abbey followed by a romantic, rustic themed reception at the incredibly cute West hall barn, Longburton.

So my blogs are about the couples I capture. They provided the story. I just try to tell it.

    So here goes.

So how did you guys first meet?

On tinder! We matched, then after a week of talking we met up for a drink in Alderley Edge. 3 dates later and we were an item.

How did Adam pop the question?  Anywhere nice?

He proposed on West Bay beach. We’d gone for brunch at a little deli in Sherborne and then Ad suggested to go for a walk on the beach, it was foggy and misty driving down and the sea was really stormy (my fave). Then the sun came out and he proposed. It was perfect.

What made you choose these venues?

We thought The Sherborne Abbey was an amazing building and the centre of the community, and somewhere we know we could come back to visit in years to come. Then a DIY wedding so a barn was ideal- the one at West Hall Farm worked as it fitted in with our budget and we had it for almost a week to decorate and prepare.

What theme was the inspiration for your wedding?

Rustic, and a party! We just wanted to have a great time without spending stupid amounts of money.

What made you choose “stand by me” as your first dance?

We liked it, plus we thought we could easily dance to it, but that failed!

Any tips for future bride and grooms planning their big day?

Stick to your budget, it’s the family and friends that make it. Enjoy it, it’s so much fun (except when storm Hannah blows off your veil!!) —Adam says to listen to the bride.

Finally, (The best bit of any wedding) where is/was your honeymoon and how was it?

We went to Venice for 2 nights a few days after our wedding for a mini-moon, we ate pizza, pasta and ice cream and had carb naps = perfect! We have our honeymoon in September when we are going to Tanzania and Zanzibar for a safari and then a chilled beach holiday! Can’t wait!!
